Quick Update

It's late on Sunday night and I need to be heading off to bed but I decided to do a quick blog update before I go.

We are doing well. I am in a good routine at work and it hasn't been too bad. I still miss Kate like crazy during the day but she seems to be doing really well. I am so thankful we have a great day care situation. Her teachers are very loving and attentive and she seems to be happy there so I am a happy mama!

Zac is busy at work like always. He is trying to find time to fit in golf whenever possible on the weekends and is helping me wash and sterilize bottles at night. We are getting the hang of this whole parenting thing and I'm *gasp* already thinking about the next one. That won't happen for quite a while though...

Here are some new pictures. Kate is getting so big and starting to do all kinds of fun new stuff.

She loves to grab her feet.
And suck on her fist, finger, or thumb. Whichever pleases her at the time.

I realized there weren't many pictures with mommy on here...

A family portrait. She is laughing at my mom in this picture.

Daddy reading Go Dog Go.
My little stylin' baby. You can see it better if you click on the picture to make it bigger. But this is Kate before day care on Friday. She is wearing her personalized onesie, pink baby leg warmers and her little bow. She looked super cute!

Thanks for reading and have a great week! I can't believe it's nearly April.

Kate Laughing?

Kate is starting to laugh a lot more at least I consider it laughing. Here is a video from Sunday, what do you think?

I heard her actually giggle today so I need to try and catch that on video....

Professional Pictures

Ok so for months I have been planning on taking Kate to get her first professional pictures over Spring Break. I decided to take her to Picture People a cute little upscale picture place in the mall that specializes in children's pictures. I made the appointment for 11:30 and then started planning on how the morning would go. I planned her naps, the car ride, her feedings, her diaper change, etc all down to the minute so she would be in a smiley mood at 11:30. And she was in a smiley mood at 11:30, it's just too bad they didn't call us to take the pictures until 12:00. By that time she was tired so definitely not as smiley. Luckily she hadn't crossed over into the screamy mood so it wasn't a complete failure. Here are some of the pictures. I think they turned out pretty cute. They might be a little blurry because I scanned them in...

I have enjoyed my week home with Kate but I'm excited for school to start back up because the quicker that happens the quicker summer gets here!!

New Camera, New Appreciation

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. I got my new camera and I am loving it! I'm now trying to convince Zac to let me take a photography class this summer so I can really start to utilize this baby!

In much sadder news, I went back to work yesterday and it's been pretty hard. I have known since I got pregnant that I would have to go back and finish the year so I have been trying to mentally prepare myself but that didn't make it any easier. I was actually excited to go back and see the kids and get back in the classroom but leaving Kate and being away from her is so hard! She hasn't gotten in a good routine of napping at day care so when she comes home she is kind of cranky and sleepy so I just hold her all night while she sleeps so I can spend time and be close to her. I am just terrified she is going to forget me or not feel that special bond with me anymore. Needless to say I am excited for Spring Break next week!

Lastly, I have new appreciation for single parents and people who raise kids with an absent spouse. Zac has been out of town since last Thursday and luckily this weekend GiGi (aka my mom) came to stay with me, but since Sunday I have been on my own. It was quite possibly the worst week for Zac to be out of town ever! But Nalco didn't care to hear that. I have had to get Kate ready for day care, get myself ready, take care of the dog, go to work, pick up Kate from day care, cook, take the dog for a walk, wash the bottles when I get home, wash Kate's dirty clothes when I get home, feed Kate, put her to bed, work on lesson plans and then get stuff ready for the next day. All this while trying to spend quality time with Kate, getting up in the middle of the night for feedings and dealing with my emotional stress of going back to work for the first time in 4 months. Ok well enough of my pity party, but I am ready for my hubby to come home tomorrow!

For your viewing pleasure here are some pictures from the new camera!

First Road Trip

Hello All! It has been awhile since I've updated, but we've been busy working out, going on our first trip and getting ready for mommy to go back to work!

A couple more pictures of different things we've been trying for tummy time. Our two new strategies are on mommy's chest and on the boppy pillow. She seems to be liking them a little more and Biggio once again wanted to join in.

On Wednesday we drove to Kerrville to stay with Great Grandad and then Thursday headed to Midland to visit Aunt Erin, Uncle Barry and cousins Leslie and Calla. We had a nice dinner and a wonderful visit. Here are some pictures of the girls together.

Zac, his sister Erin and the 3 girls.

Leslie was so cute with the girls. She kept saying "These are my babies!"

Kate- 11 weeks Calla- 5 weeks

We spent the rest of the weekend with PaPa T and DeDe a.k.a. Zac's dad and stepmom. We somehow managed to not get any pictures with them mostly because they were sick and trying to keep their distance from Kate, which we appreciate!! But we ate some wonderful meals and had a great time. We also went down to Kermit so see Great Gramps. He was very excited to meet his 5th great-grandchild.

We drove back 8 hours on Sunday and we were amazed at how well Kate did the whole trip. She slept almost the whole time in the car and didn't cry once! She is such an awesome baby =)

If you haven't noticed, Kate has quite a bit of hair. People keep telling me that I need to put bows in her hair, but I wasn't sure where to start and those big headband bows are just not really me. So I found a seller on Etsy and ordered some cute tiny bows with a K embroidered on them. Here is my first attempt at having Kate wear a bow... What do you think?

This is my last week before I go back to work. I am looking forward to going back to teach the rest of the year but not looking forward to leaving Kate. I know it will be very hard but hopefully we will both get through it with minimal trauma.

In very exciting news, my husband bought me an SLR digital camera for our anniversary/my birthday/several other holidays =) So I am so thrilled to be able to take even better pictures of our little cutie and becoming an awesome mommy photographer! It should be here by my next blog post.

Thanks for reading! We love and miss you all.
