You are so smart and beautiful and amazing and have shown us what real love is. We can't wait to see what life has in store for you, although we sometimes wish we could freeze time and keep you our little one year old forever.

We hope that you will always know and never forget how much we love you.

Winter ONEderland

This weekend Kate had her 1st Birthday Party. It was a Winter ONEderland party, get it? Cause she's turning ONE! Cheesy but cute!

We decked the house out in Winter/Christmas decor and lots of family and friends came over to celebrate the important milestone.

Kate was so good and I think she actually enjoyed the party, which is the whole point isn't it?

Professional Family Photos

Ok so now that the Christmas Cards have been mailed out and everyone saw Kate in her adorable albeit over-the-top Birthday Outfit, I can post our professional family photos. My sister's fabulous wedding photographer and a former high school classmate of mine took them. You can see the rest of her work here. She did a marvelous job although Kate was not fully cooperating and was pretty much refusing to look at the camera and smile at the same time. Anyways here are some of my faves... Enjoy!

Let it Snow!

It's snowing today in Houston! This is like the earliest snow since 1890 something and in Pearland we got 2.5 inches and it's totally sticking to the ground!!

Kate was pretty interested this morning looking out the back door...

And after talking to my dad he convinced me to bundle Kate up and let her experience the snow. I dug into her closet and found a snowsuit that someone had passed down to her. I think I remember laughing when I pulled that out of the bag and thinking "Yeah right, she'll never wear this!" Well, I figured I should not pass up the chance to use it and even put on her cute little Uggs and we ventured out into the backyard.

Kate pretty much just sat there in disbelief that her mother would subject to her such frigidness and so after snapping a few pictures I scooped her up and we headed into the nice warm house!

Although it was freezing I'm glad I'll have these pictures to show her someday, and I was thinking all day how I am glad I was the one to be able to take her out in the snow for the first time rather than a day care worker!!
